*Homage to ‘Chaos’* is a video installation created by Stéphan BARRON during the summer of 1993 for a group exhibition.

Each artist in the exhibition was given a new shelving unit of the sort available in DIY shops.
Once assembled, the shelving unit was transported to the beach at Longues-sur-mer in Normandy, to a place known as Le Chaos (on the same site as the Site Non-site project).

The shelf was secured to a shipwreck at low tide.

After the tide had gone out, the shelf – now warped, broken and rusted – was dismantled and reassembled in the exhibition space, accompanied by the video.

The video stands on its own and can be shown as a video art piece.
